  1. I too was supposed to be a twin. I actually didn’t know about this until I was older, around 10 or 11 years old when I overheard my parents discussing with my extended family some experiences they had with that situation. My twin was too early to tell the gender, so they never knew, but always felt it was a boy. When I was younger I ended up having an imaginary friend named “little boy,” of whom I actually remembered playing with. I only knew he was imaginary when I asked who the boy I used to play with was, to which they described all these experiences that didn’t actually involve him, also explaining they always wondered if it was a “twin situation.” It makes me sad when I think about it, but also brings comfort as I always felt I had a boy spirit with me growing up, long before I knew I lost my twin. I still feel this way, but I’ve had doubts sometimes wondering if it was all a coincidence and if my twin was actually a girl of whom I have no connection with. I’ll only find out when I pass I suppose.

  2. I dont have more doubts

  3. I always felt like something or some one was always missing. So when I was 16 (38) now, finally just straight out asked my mom if there was some one in our family that died who was supposed to be here? To my surprise she said yes, that I had a twin brother who didn't make it. His umbilical chord restricted his breathing and unfortunately didn't make it. I am a female and always wanted a brother so it was bittersweet. I was astounded when I found out,yet had confirmed something I had always felt in a way. I always wondered how he would have turned out and why I was the one who made it. God must have a purpose for me…

  4. Thanks to all involved, the person experiencing the NDE, the person posting the experience, and all the people that commented. I read & liked every comment. The informality and honesty in the people commenting is very special and meaningful to me.

  5. These are the best NDEs, the ones that you can trace back to some additional information that adds up as proof or evidence of the afterlife. The twin brother is further evidence that he became aware of until he was dead. It all makes sense and logic unlike a dream that is so fussy and logic is inconsistent and the colors are not perfect even in lucid dreams.

  6. I am still grieving the death of my identical twin sister, who died so suddenly and unexpectedly from Sepsis last April 2022. Life is not what it was when we were together—for 76 years!! (We were apart only for some years from ages 23 to 32—and even then, while I was living and working in London (we were and are New Yorkers)—and Alice had an acting career in NYC and around the country—we still visited one another for several months a year! We were so close—laughing, talking, sharing everything, never getting tired of spending time together. Identical Twin Studies, which we were part of many years ago, showed that our 'zygosity', which shows 8 levels of similarities between identical twins, proved that we were on the 7th highest level!! So genetically alike! Life is so very difficult without Alice–and I study all I can find about the possibility of life beyond death–and what ensues. I've never had an NDE experience—and neither did Alice–but reading a story such as this particular one is very comforting to me. Thank you for sharing it. 🙂

  7. My name is Anthony Rivetti, I had a Sister who died before I was born, so, I know how you feel, having known she only lived a coupke of days and having heard about her from my family, has alwYs left me with a strange familiarity with my passed on Sister, so, I have similar feelibgs to what you described after your experience!

  8. I've always wondered if I was a twin or whether cells or material from an opposite sex twin has survived in my brain and nervous system.
I'm a cisgender female but I've had transient psychobiological experiences feeling as if my body and mind were male, and was once diagnosed with gender dysphoria because of the similarity of symptoms. These experiences feel like being possessed and are often really uncomfortable, disorienting, or nauseating. Other times though, they have an ethereal quality to them, and during them I feel like I'm healthy, that my body is working, and that I'm thinking very clearly, a rarity with my chronic health conditions. There is also this eery feeling that I've woken from the dead, even if for only a couple of hours.
When I'm in a female mode just before experiencing this, I feel as if I'm about to meet someone of my own blood and who I've been waiting to see forever, but whom I've never actually met in the flesh. This intuition of significant familiarity and importance, but it feels totally irrational. I also have dreams where I have a male sibling, or that I am a male sibling trying to understand how I fit in.
These experiences leave me crying profusely for several days at a time, especially since they've diminished undoubtedly thanks to my health conditions.
