This young man’s experiences reflect what tens of thousands of others have seen on the “Other Side” during their Near Death Experience.
Many see what this young man interpreted as a “wizard”: tall, hooded figure(s) in long robes who communicates via thought (telepathic) instead of speaking. It makes sense that a young boy would see that as a wizard he may have read about in fantasy books.
Other NDE’rs see deceased relatives, angels, unusual beings they cannot recognize or name; and some even come face-to-face with Jesus, Moses, Allah, or the Buddha. There are a rare few who are brought before the I AM Him/Itself.

The clothing of wizards and those of people living in the time of Christ were the same in many ways, so he probably saw Christ, not a wizard.
