it seems during many NDEs that people have a different vantage point of awareness – namely they lose consciousness then hover above their body, or even above the planet, looking down on things. it's fascinating. i've had an out of body experience myself whereby my consciousness was split in two, so I was both aware of my body and I was also in a different location. So my gut feeling tells me consciousness is "non-local", so to speak.
