ABOUT IANDS
IANDS is a membership nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation with a mission to advance world knowing of NDEs and linked experiences by means of research, education, and assist. We visualize a long term in which all people today embrace near-death and connected experiences as a supply of that means and inspiration for a superior globe. We believe that NDEs can completely transform an individual’s lifetime, influence the sciences, and embolden culture. These days, IANDS engages in much a lot more than research and has customers from around the earth. We invite you to think about turning into a member of IANDS. What is an NDE?
A near-death experience (NDE) is normally a profound, lifetime shifting, intensely psychological experience that usually takes place through a clinical crisis and has typical characteristics and aftereffects. It is not a aspiration, hallucination, or mental ailment (Greyson, 1983). There are no predictive variables to identify who will have an NDE. They come about to people of all ages, religions, socio-economic groups, cultures, instructional backgrounds, and belief programs. They manifest under a wide variety of situations these as incidents, close to-drownings, sicknesses, fight, surgical methods, and childbirth. Adhering to an NDE, experiencers (NDErs) generally show some typical aftereffects. Research has recognized a established of widespread NDE features and extensive-phrase aftereffects. Theories made use of to demonstrate near-death experiences in purely bodily conditions have been established inadequate by NDE researchers and other individuals.

  2. it is time to update some ideas. Raymond Moody and others have done tremendously invaluable work. because of their work this subject has grown big and needs some updating in general language terms and some mapping schematics of some sort.

the term NDE is potent because that is were the materialist paradigm is most satisfied. however in proving the NDE should not be considered more vital than learning from the personal edification of the NDE.

these experiences are made cheap if we try to prove some quality of their experience or focus so much on how to integrate our experience into conventional social conveniences.

there is a grate deal to learn from these experiences, and the more we water it down the less we progress. validation is important for confidence, but that validation if we are not careful can turn our spirits backwards.

in some but not all NDE's people are hooked up to machines and attended to by trained medical professionals, and a lot can be learned about the validity of out of body experiences while unconscious or while unable to have any experience at all by conventional scientific understanding, but most NDE's are still not validated in this way.

the NDE is a subset category of Out of Body Experience. Out of Body Experiences or OBE's have levels of intensity to them. the more elaborate the experience or higher in intensity the OBE is the more edifying the experience is towards a spirtual insight.

we seem to be more interested in validating some materialist satisfaction of these experiences than the spiritual quality of these experiences within "the NDE community".

if an individual has an OBE a spirtual experience has begun. from here the experience can either become extremely spiritually elaborate or be quite brief and return to their body.

it seems to my imagination that the more spiritually advanced or experienced soul is prone to more elaborate experiences. every experience seems to be about learning how to optimally engage wirh their current human life. some people will return from these experiences convinced that we only live one life and there is no such thing as living many lifetimes.

as a subject I feel like we learn the most valuable lessons from the spiritual nature of the OBE. the OBE that is more centered around their current human life has that focus for a perfectly valid reason, but as a subject we get better quality of general spirtual knowledge from OBE that elaborate into higher levels.

if we more clearly organize or some way map out the levels of OBE's, as a subject I feel like we learn and gain more profound insights from all levels of experiences.

  3. I'd love to hear a solid neurological explanation, from debunkers, as to how 360 degree spherical vision works when we don't have it onboard and have never used any such neural pathways in our lives.

  4. Growing up I had a heart problem I would get mini pains in my heart when I turned 14 I had a heart attack an I fell to the ground an I died my spirit left my body an I flied upward toward the sky I felt like superman flying. As my spirit flied toward the sky I then stopped flying an I was just hovering in one spot in the air I was hovering in one spot for 5 minutes I knew I was in the heaven realms I was hovering over my body in the sky I saw colorufull sparkling golden lights I saw colors I never saw before in the sky then suddenly rays like in this picture below placed my spirit back down in my body like god moved my spirit from the sky back in my body like he touched my spirit with his hands but he touched my spirit with rays from heaven. As God's rays put my spirit back in my body I was then back in my body an I looked up an I saw rays on my heart the rays pulled out my heart an gave me a new heart I looked up an inwas blinded by a bright light I covered my eyes an then the light left an everything went back to normal an I came back to life till this day I still see rays from God in my eye vision it's not really there anymore but I guess it's side effects from the experience.

  5. A person can invent a device that removes the soul from the body without stopping the heartbeat to ensure the return of the soul to the body, then questions are asked to the soul returning from the other world.

  6. The idea that a dying brain would provide a way to calm us does not make sense to me. Survival is the most basic instinct of life. According to "survival of the fittest" dogma, it seems that the brain would be desperately rebelling against death, rather than trying to calm itself.

  7. NDE ‘S are spiritual, so we therefore can not prove that what is being experienced is true, from my experience the human consciousness is not divine, as much as NA philosophy and channeled information try’s t tell us it is. Spirit can show us anything we want, even that which we don’t want, spirit plays the game, it’s called trickster consciousness, we are wanting to evolve , the end justifies the means as far as human consciousness is concerned. The universe doesn’t care what we do, it just continues giving us what we create, lucky for us the Creator of the universe is love, love does care! So how does love get around free will? I don’t know, but rest assured love does .

  8. So exactly what is the "5) . . . plausible explanation for two-way causal interactions between the non-material mind and brain?" And what is the "mind entity theory" that avoids dualism? There's no explanation of these propositions. Can someone please point me to the literature on this?

  9. Skeptics of NDE's? Try to convince someone like Nany Rynes, Tricia Barker, Eben Alexander, Dannion Brinkley (Especially Dannion.) what they experienced was NOT real, or a hallucination caused from the brain or whatever. Skeptics come from folks who have either been taught not to believe. (Religion, Science…) or just plain refuse, because they didn't experience one themselves. No one is trying to convince you like religion. (Believe or else.) It's very simple. If the numbers of people having NDE's don't convince you. The veridical experiences from professionals, scientists and lay persons… don't convince you. The end of your life will. Don't believe. Believe. It makes no difference to those that have and already know. Guaranteed, YOU will find out the truth and it's all going to be just fine. Remember all the people thought, man would never be able to fly… Woo-Hoo, I can fly now momma!

  10. There are many cases where a person who has an NDE sees someone who recently died, but they were unaware of that death… So they are surprised to see them during their NDE. I wish we could document more of this!!

  11. What convinced me that NDE's are real is 1) People who have NDEs report having a significantly 'more real' feeling, more lucid, more awake(that can't happen when your brain isn't functioning correctly while dead).
    2) 100s of cases where people came back to life with information that they could not of obtained except if they actually witnessed it, example: they know what a person said, did half way around the world at the moment of their NDE experience(while dead).

  12. I have investigated this for years and it seems that physiological or pathological processes can explain almost everything about NDEs. Perhaps you're familiar with Olaf Blanke's research on OBE's, End-of-life electrical surges, Susan Blackmore's hypothesis on the tunnel and so on. Admittedly, not everything can be explained: There are subjective experiences which defy logic, like veridical OBE's…anyway, who doesn't want to find out what the truth is?

  13. The skeptics will always try to dismiss this – even with the mountain of evidence. I love how they ignore the Shared Death Experiences entirely. Tell me this skeptics – how is it an remote SDE can have verifiable facts from hundreds if not thousands of miles away? Are the skeptics just so miserable that they just have to dismiss any glimmer of hope? It's sad really. God gives us these NDE's as a window, a tool, a lesson, a reminder of how we should live. To dismiss NDE's as nothing but a dying brain is equivalent of believing in a flat earth – the skeptics are wrong.
