He was previously on the medical faculty at the University of Michigan and the University of Connecticut, where he was Clinical Chief of Psychiatry. He has earned awards for his medical research and was elected a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the highest honor bestowed by that organization. He co-founded the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS), an organization to support and promote research into these experiences, and for 27 years edited the “Journal of Near-Death Studies”, the only scholarly journal dedicated to near-death research. Through his research, he has discovered common and universal themes in near-death experiences that go beyond neurophysiological or cultural interpretations, as well as patterns of consistent aftereffects on individuals’ attitudes, beliefs, values, and personalities. Dr. Greyson is the author of “After: A Doctor Explores What Near-Death Experiences Reveal About Life and Beyond”. The book challenges our everyday ideas about our minds and our brains and offers key insights on how we can begin to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life. https://www.brucegreyson.com/about

  1. Do you actually know of someone who was born blind then could see while pronounced dead or nearly dead. Also is any of this documented, or is it hearsay? I have heard of gaining sight during an NDE but never read a study on it

  2. Sometimes I think about all of mankind and all through the history of this world all the way back through recorded history and I really feel sorry for all the bad things throughout history that mankind has gone through and is still going through, it seems we get knocked down over and over yet we still keep getting right back up and trying again over and over from one disaster to another, in fact just waiting to see what will be next to try and snuff us out over and over this happens, so much confusion and misunderstanding everywhere all the time tragidy after tragidy, yet we just get right back up and trying to keep moving forward just think about it there really has to be a purpose to all this because if not we are fighting a never ending battle sometimes I think what poor fool's we seem to be to be going through the things we go through, and then try to keep a smile and be happy.

  3. I'm glad that NDEs are becoming a subject of more free and open discussion! After all, we're all going there one day. But I have a question.
I come from a fundamentalist Christian family, but I have pretty much abandoned their strict "rules and regulations," especially their Hell and Brimstone preaching. So my question is this. If believing in Jesus is "the one and only path to heaven," does everyone see Jesus on the other side, welcoming them with open arms, or do people just see what they want to see when they die?? I have no problem with the concept of God and an afterlife, but I think some of Jesus' followers are just completely loony. Just watching those phony TV evangelists makes me physically ill.

  4. So I'm a General Pratician and I have a very close friend who did an NDE, he saw it all, the tunnel, the serenity etc. He was asking me all the time why did they brought him back because he was in a perfect balance with himself and the universe. Well I talked to him about NDEs and after seeing vids and reading some books he is now more focused on doing good deeds and being a very helpful person because he believes hard that we are all here to help each other.

Thank you for the presentation. It's nice to see alot of MDs involved in this.

    Cheers.

  5. I can't tell you when I had my NDE I was instantly in another place which seemed more real than this place, mine was a very short and distressful NDE but I knew I was somewhere else and I was given 6 times the amount of Anesthesia I was supposed to have because i believe my tolerance to this specific anesthesia was high for some reason, but I can promise you there is another reality or dimension what ever you want to call it, I know the difference between an hallucination or a dream and when you cross to the other side it's nothing like either of those it seemed to me that I woke up from this reality to the real reality for a brief moment, I feel that we are emersed in this reality like we are in a dream or a virtual reality while we are here then when we pass from this one we wake up in the real world very similar to the movie the matrix, only we are not in a pod as neo was.

  6. I died and had a revelation which exposed many lies and lead me to a very rare Hebrew translation of the original bible. Not this 1611 KJV deception. My heart stopped and I quit breathing in the hallway of my apartment. Instantly I was standing over my dead body. I realized I was dead. In this form I was an image of myself but maybe it was like a ghost realm overlooking the physical. I decided it was time to go and headed down to the staircase but was gliding. When I got to the doorway to the staircase room a flash of light zapped me in what at first looked like a void. But then I realized sun beams were coming from me and my human image was gone. I was…. ….A STAR!! This is where the spirit spoke, "You must return, you are to Witness." I asked about my judgement and the spirit spoke inside my mind which was different than the original telepathy. As if it was writting my subconscious, it said, "NO SIN." I woke up in the hospital and doctors played it off but Paramedics brought me in dead. I simply came back to life. Then I began a transformation, not from fear of dying, as that was far from how I felt about dying. It seemed like I didnt even care that I died. But it began, a program update started rewriting me from my unconscious mind. I came into the lord when I was Agnostic. I would have NEVER walked into a church but I did. I then took on bible studies and found these Witness in the word. I went further and volunteered for Food ministry to help feed those in need. I was asked to be the tech guy and run the music and projectors. I then wondered about this STAR thing and that is where I made a huge discovery. The Living God, the TRUE Hebrew Tablets, which are almost impossible to find online. 1611 KJV omitted all these verses, about not Heaven and Hell, but Immortals and Mortals. Where you ascend into a Star Cherubim, that Precognition(Future seeing) is actually the alignment with spirit and those not having future visions are misaligned and deceived. Much of what this ancient book, which is THE BIBLE is forbidden unless you are true Hebrew. It shows itself to those who are anointed. Christian think much of what the REAL book is saying, to be New Age, lmao. Its literally like the OA series. God is a loving God and Yeshua(Jesus) are the Same person. Heaven,Hell, and Purgatory are all forms of limbo preventing ascension to Star. The KJV wants you to Fear Punishment to be good, but this will be exposed in spirit and you wont ascend. Billions are trapped between these two points of light. These two points are actually just one point out of focus. This is because KJV tell you to seek light, but only 144,000 know they ARE the light. These few are here to guide others. The Star Cherubim are 'The Witness.'

  7. I'm a Mexican cardiologist. Most of my patients who told me about their NDE show a change in their personality. They become less interested in the material aspects of life and less fearful of dying. That's not what happens to patients who recovered from delirium.
Very interesting video. The lecturers show knowledge and compassion

  8. For a true account of what transpires when you drop your gross physical body and enter the semi-subtle realm, I invite all to YouTube :

    "Filis Frederick demystifying death".
    Profound insights!!!
    I've watched it 20 times.
You will understand what transpires and what to do from a genuine psychic.

    Love is all,
    Al

  9. Please do not PO Po this segment, as there are greater things in our universe than what we can imagine. Keep an open mind before committing you mind to a negative outcome. Science is now investigating every instance of our lives to help us.

  10. Demons, Angels and Jesus. Come on, get real!
And they all have a great mission to fulfill. Do they become powerful leaders or Nobel Prize winners? ? No, they go on to have normal lives. And the boy who developed psychic powers. Yeah right! He lied to his shrink – attention seeker.
