I've been in the void too. When I had my first surgery. Soon as they put me under immediately I was standing in this vast darkness yelling is anybody here is anybody here. Then a tiny greenish light off to my right appeared and started getting closer. Then I woke up in recovery.
Guy's story could have used more specific details, like the disreputable objectives God didn't like, or whatever. Given his religious beliefs, that could mean so many secular things. Did he mess up his marriage to film porn in his new house, or worse? The secular mind is left to fill in the blanks.
