After 31 yrs on the College of North Texas (UNT) Counseling System college, Jan Holden retired in 2019 as Professor Emerita of Counseling. Starting in 1988 with her doctoral dissertation, her main research target has been counseling implications of near-death and related experiences. In this research location she has around 50 refereed journal publications and more than 100 countrywide and intercontinental displays and has acquired various awards and honors. Considering that 2008 she has served as editor-in-chief of the International Association for Near-Death Studies’s scholarly Journal of Near-Death Experiments, and she serves now as that association’s President.
