This NDE describes similar after effects of when I drowned at 2 years old in the mid 60's. My parents were separated. My mom took my sister and I back to her parents home. They had a swimming pool. I was left by the pool when the phone rang. Was found floating lifeless when they returned. I did survive, but later as I grew up, while sleeping, would wake up gasping for air. 15 years later, a conversation came up about me drowning. I cried and cried. I didnt remember. Now I knew why I didnt like the water or to swim! I later had a hypnosis session and went to the scene. I could see myself being held by a white light being, Jesus. I wasnt raised religious, but I know it was him. In 2015 in an ayahuasca ceremony, I was shown what my drowning was for. My parents. They didnt divorce until 10 years after the incident. It was a horrible relationship that affected my sister and I greatly, and not in a good way. But I saw what would happen to my dad if I died. It would have destroyed him. He felt my mom wasn't competent to take care of us 2 kids when I drowned, and took us back. My dad and I were always close. But my mom and I weren't. So many interesting catalysts that affect our lives. Just have to learn our lessons and trust Gods plans.
Most people have accepted my NDE story but the most important people to me and the closest treated me like I was crazy or hallucinating during my life saving brain surgery. It's not possible to hallucinate or dream during this type of brain surgery because they turn your brain off so to speak since they cannot work on it with brain activity going on. So that right there was proof but I still don't talk about it with those people because they ruin how special it was and they are really losing out on some useful information from God through me. God bless you and I pray that our stories are believed and more accepted as you said. I believe you 100% because I went through it and I know it to be true. It also strengthened my relationship with God tenfold and I wouldn't want things to be any different even though it was a terrible experience.

My wife almost drowned as a teenager on a river. She seems to have PTSD, and I think it may be connected to that event.
