Descriptions:

Dr. Bruce Greyson, University of Virginia Professor Emeritus, and top pro in near-death experience (NDE) research , discusses why the science of consciousness can be elevated only when the consciousness of scientists them selves has been elevated. About Dr. Bruce Greyson
Dr. Bruce Greyson is the Chester Carlson Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the College of Virginia. He was beforehand on the clinical school at the College of Michigan and the University of Connecticut, the place he was Clinical Chief of Psychiatry. Dr. Greyson has consulted with the National Institutes of Health and tackled symposia on consciousness at the United Nations and at the Dalai Lama’s compound in Dharamsala, India. He has earned awards for his clinical research and was elected a Distinguished Existence Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, the best honor bestowed by that business.

Dr. Greyson’s curiosity in near-death experiences commenced just a couple of months after graduating from health-related college, when he handled an unconscious client in the crisis room who shocked him the upcoming morning with an account of leaving her body. That celebration challenged his beliefs about the mind and the brain, and finally led him on a journey to analyze near-death experiences scientifically, major to additional than a hundred publications in health care journals. He co-founded the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS), an business to support and advertise research into these experiences, and for 27 yrs edited the Journal of Near-Death Reports, the only scholarly journal committed to near-death research. By means of his research, he has identified widespread and common themes in near-death experiences that go beyond neurophysiological or cultural interpretations, as well as patterns of consistent aftereffects on individuals’ attitudes, beliefs, values, and personalities.

Dr. Greyson is the creator of “Just after: A Doctor Explores What Near-Death Experiences Reveal About Lifetime and Over and above”. The e-book difficulties our every day suggestions about our minds and our brains and features key insights on how we can start to are living a additional meaningful and satisfying life.

  1. "The Truth is Out There". My favorite TV show of all time – The X Files- has more resonance and meaning more than ever. I've always loved that show because of its air of mystery and pursuit of the truth from two people – a scientist and one of faith in the unexplainable. Dr. Greyson embodies these two beliefs – a scientist with an open mind searching for the truth of life and our existence. I love his approach and I wish I could turn back time and be a doctor or scientist myself so I could pursue the truth. It seems we are limited in our mental capacity and the tools to measure and prove the existence of the afterlife, but the evidence is indeed persuasive and undeniable.

  2. I Don't have more doubts
    We are millenary spirits.
Essa não é a primeira vez que estamos aqui.
Já vivemos muitas vidas com muitas pessoas diferentes da nossa atual família.
Voltamos em novos corpos carnais para continuar nossa jornada evolutiva na terra.
    O aprendizado nunca termina.
Deus não desampara nenhum de seus filhos.

  3. He seems to be on the verge of tears through most of this. At first I thought that he was troubled about something, but I actually recognize this response. I get like that in the presence of the holy. I think he is expressing awe.

  4. The idea of the brain being a receiver to participate in this reality is very interesting. However it makes me wonder about animals. Who are they receiving signal from? Its a disturbing thought if people are forced to be animals with such lesser intelligence. But if we aren’t also inhabiting animal bodies, why do they have receivers? Why do these lesser creatures exist at all, for that matter. Makes me wonder how plant life fits into this aswell. It also complicates the concept of evolution. I want to believe, but looking at the full picture of life on Earth, doesn’t seem to add up to me.

  5. Dr Greyson. Mankind and the limited intelligence we have is something our egos do not understand or want to recognize. We think that WE can figure out all the answers but to get the answers we need to set aside our egos for a few minutes and ask the One who created all of this and us for the answers. Really ask. And then hold on to your socks when He gives you the answers. Then you will see and realize that there is only one answer and that there are endless questions. It is all so complex that it becomes simple. Our mind is more closely related to our hearts than our brains and you will see and realize this when you get the answer. And afterwards you will be free to enjoy your life instead of always questioning it. God bless.

  6. ?The brain receives the thoughts from the mind (microtubules or heart’s sinus node?), somehow filters them (GABA?), selects the ones important for the body’s survival (limbic system?), and then converts those into electrical and chemical signals the body (neurochemicals, receptors, vagus nerve?) can understand (epigenetics?)?

  7. Why use a physical target for NDEers to identify when they are probably actually seeing the thoughts of the doctors and nurses? Why not perform a study with doctors and nurses imagining strange images to see if the NDEers can report them? If consciousness is infinite, how do we test that?

  8. My NDE is so different than what Mr. Greyson described here. I have been posting my experience for 9 years looking for answers as to where I was and why. This recent video comes very close to helping me understand that "mindset" at the time of my death may have determined what I saw. Nothingness.

I'd sure appreciate someone replying to me who may have been there too. Thank you.

  9. This is life changing Dr. Greyson. Thank you for the work you do And your ability to articulate it in such a fascinating way. This answers some questions I've had this week and asked to be pointed to answers. This video found me. I am grateful.
Many blessings to you, your family and associates.

  10. wow. what a heart. what innocence and lack of fear of being mocked in the youtube comments.

makes me realize how different the other side must be. what 'living without fear' must really be like.

  11. But all the tests never reported any person who saw things hidden, during NDEs, so either this has been the first case in which someone saw non physically or Dr Greyson does not remember properly every aspect of that day or maybe nobody has seen objects during NDEs…….

  12. I think I'm alive today to try and save/warn as many people as I can from the "Mark of the beast" Rna vaccine. God has sculpted men and woman to become lions in this time of tyranny. Some need a nudge to step into what they are destined to be…and it is is coming.

  13. Beautiful!

I disagree, however, that religions teach that death is not to be feared. The Abrahamic religions are big fear-mongering religions. That's how they manipulate the masses.

  14. If you go to a so-called psychic, you will always be told that your deceased ones are in a much better place. That must mean that every soul in the afterlife goes to eternal bliss … or that the so-called psychics know that you won't come back to pay them more money, if they tell you that your deceased loved ones are suffering in the supposed afterlife.

  15. I suggest that a fetus in the womb, is not conscious until the brain cells allow for the consciousness to exist. Once the brain cells die, the energy melds in to other forms of life. The same occurs in all animals. No super natural … but rather just natural.
